Campus Ministry

Immanuel is excited to serve as a Lutheran Campus Ministry site for the local colleges. We have undergraduates, graduate students, faculty, and staff who are part of our community.

Pastor Steven is available for “office hours” at the UMass Campus Center in the Blue Wall on most Mondays from 12-2 p.m. when classes are in session, or by appointment anytime. Come join him for a cup of coffee (or tea or hot chocolate)! Look for a 2’x3′ whiteboard with a question posted on it!

Every year we welcome students on the first day of classes with a backpack blessing, free coffee, and baked goods. We also host the annual Amherst College Community Engagement Orientation Trip. We seek to engage in interfaith events on campus whenever possible.

Interested in service opportunities? In addition to what we provide at Immanuel you can join a Spring Break service trip. Check out United Christian Foundation, an ecumenical ministry that focuses on faith and service through an alternative spring break program.

Immanuel is an open and affirming congregation and provides a safe place for LGBTQ persons and their allies to explore faith and spirituality.
