We invite anyone, but especially those in grades 6-9, to engage in a course of study in preparation for affirmation of baptism, also known as confirmation.
Affirmation of baptism is an opportunity to renew the promises that we make at baptism or that were made on our behalf by parents at our baptism. This affirmation of those promises is a joyful response to the ever-present, never-failing promises God makes to us at baptism.
During the course of study we cover Biblical stories, Luther’s catechism, worship and prayer, service and mission, and ecumenical and interfaith dialogue. Throughout the program we encourage participation in the life and mission of the church and work at applying faith to daily life.
We are currently offering confirmation preparation on an individual basis.
In addition to Sunday morning, there are opportunities for retreats at Camp Calumet, service projects, participation in worship, as well as youth group activities.
The congregation generally celebrates affirmation of baptism for confirmands on Reformation Sunday, the last Sunday in October.
